Our Client
Our client, a leading global alternative asset management firm with c.$400bn in AuM, is currently looking for a Senior Legal Counsel (Transactions) to join its London office. The firm owns and operates a large range of assets, spanning across property, private equity, infrastructure as well as sustainable power.
The successful candidate will be reporting into the firm's SVP, Investments.
Main Responsibilities
The Senior Legal Counsel (Transactions) will be counseling, supporting and advising investment group team members on every legal aspect of real estate transactions in Europe and all real estate sectors. They will also be providing assistance to the investment lead in running and executing transactions.
Key duties for this position will include, but are not limited to:
Negotiating and monitoring negotiations of all documentation related to the acquisition, disposition, financing and development of real estate projects
Instructing an monitoring of outside counsel on legal due diligence and negotiation of contractual documentation
Participating in meetings and actively communicating with relevant internal teams for the coordination of all aspects of an applicable transaction
Supervising the performance of outside counsel and ensuring that costs are kept to a minimum
Coordinating with the tax team as well as outside counsel in regard to internal restructuring, REIT compliance and any other tax related matter
Coordinating with outside counsel on the review of NDAs for all acquisition and dispositions
Working internally with the firm's investment group in legal documentation relating to brokers, advisors and due diligence consultants
Your Profile
4-8 years PQE at a major law firm, corporate or real estate law acting for private equity sponsors is preferred for this position
Previous experience in working in an international matrix
