Rutherford is currently looking for a part-time finance director to support the firm in its growth stage. We are an established boutique recruitment firm which specialises in the compliance, financial crime, legal and cyber security sectors, all within professional and financial services.
This is a key hire for us and the successful candidate will have the autonomy to develop the finance function as they see fit over time and to add value in other areas if possible. We anticipate our needs to grow over time.
The format is flexible and we can consider candidates on a 1 day per week through to 1 day per month basis.
We are flexible in terms of the format for working hours. The appointee will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant experience working in a recruitment firm, in a Financial Controller or Finance Director capacity. We will only consider applicants with experience in a consultancy or recruitment firm.
Main Duties
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Coordinate, organise and oversee all aspects of finance and operations, and assist in business planning
The premise of the remit is to ensure that time the business Director is regularly updated on the company's financial position with key performance metrics as well as provide both detailed P&L analysis through to strategic financial advice to enable the Director to focus on running and growing the business.
Target setting for members of staff
Budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling, setting compensation structures
Develop our understanding of cost attribution (e.g. sales, marketing, operations/HR, etc.)
This will include managing the relationships with our accountant and book-keepers in relation to the preparation of accounts, financial reports and the creation and coordination of key financial metrics for the business
Map out key drivers and assumptions across
Identify opportunities for profit and revenue improvement or cost reduction across customer acquisition
Runway analysis
Present key information to management in easy to understand way
