The Head of Legal will usually lead all internal issues that require a legal consideration - from intellectual property to safety compliance. The Head of Legal is the go-to specialist whenever a legal issue is being raised within a firm.

Usual Key Duties

Preparing opinions and documentation on legal questions being brought up by a firm
Represent the firm in court, if required
Represent the firm during processes of arbitration, if required
Manage a team of lawyers (depending on the size of the firm)
Manage relationships with key stakeholders - both internal and external - as well as senior management
Interpret new and upcoming regulations and implement them within a firm
Board support and internal committee attendance

Key Requirements

Qualified Solicitor (based on jurisdiction)
Based on the seniority of the role and the firm's requirements, a number of years of post qualification experience (PQE)
Strong management experience
