What are your guiding principles at work?
My core values at work are insight, honesty, adaptability, a strong work ethic and most importantly a positive attitude! I feel it's crucially important as a compliance recruiter to have a real insight into the market in order to provide the best advice and guidance to my candidates and clients. I am open every step of the way through a process and will work above and beyond to ensure a tailored approach and the highest quality of service. I thoroughly enjoy my work, and always have a smile on my face!
What motivates you at work and in life?
I thrive upon being a specialist at what I do, which stems from a strong legal background and over 3 years at an established compliance recruitment firm. I'm also motivated by having a positive impact on people, specifically in work helping others find their dream job and negotiating the best possible package, whether it's a salary increase or a better work/life balance. I also love developing strong and long-term relationships with candidates and clients and getting repeat business as a result of my work.
What do you like about working with SMEs in the insurance sector?
Whilst I have experience of working on large Preferred Suppliers List (PSL) with global insurance firms, I have always been more interested in working with smaller businesses where I can have more of an impact on a compliance team, for example when the scope is to build the function from scratch. This highlights my tailored and personable approach to recruitment, rather than the 'transactional' side we often see on the market. I would much rather get to know my candidates and clients inside out and work on a handful of vacancies with dedication and efficiency, than be overloaded at a risk of not servicing them properly.
What can colleagues - and friends - expect when they are around you?
I am always upbeat, down to earth, easy to talk to and there is really never a dull moment with me!
What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Change is good - embrace it and always be ready to take an opportunity when it presents itself.
