Our client, a leading global alternative asset management firm with c.$400bn in AuM, is currently looking for a Senior Legal Associate - Renewable to join its London office. The firm owns and operates a large range of assets, spanning across property, private equity, infrastructure as well as sustainable power.
The successful appointee will report into the firm's SVP and General Counsel Europe for the firm's Renewable division. You will be responsible for the provision of legal advice and support of a vast range of commercial and transactional matters in relation to the firm's Renewable activities in Europe. The core focus of the position will be in transaction activity: documentation, due diligence and integrations.
Key responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to:
Providing support in transaction execution activities
Providing legal advice and support on numerous commercial matters and growth initiatives (project development, joint ventures, partnerships)
Liaising with legal groups of the firm's European's portfolio businesses on requirements for internal governance
Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and interpreting contracts and agreements
Providing assistance with compliance with statutes, regulations and industry rules
Providing support to the SVP and General Counsel on an ongoing basis as required in the provision of legal service
About 5 years of relevant experience in law, preferably within a well-regarded law firm or within a financial services firm's legal department
A solid track record in mergers and acquisitions
Previous experience in the energy sector and in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts
Strong legal, contractual drafting and analytical skills
M&A transaction management experience
