A leading international law firm is seeking a talented Contentious Construction Associate to join their exceptional Construction practice in London. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious lawyer to work on complex, high-value construction disputes and further develop their skills within a supportive and dynamic team.
Position Overview
As a Contentious Construction Associate, you will play a key role in the firm's Construction practice, working closely with partners and senior associates on a variety of contentious matters. You will have the opportunity to advise clients on a range of construction issues, draft legal documents, and assist in managing client relationships. This position provides excellent exposure to high-profile cases and the chance to contribute to the ongoing success of the practice.
Responsibilities
Assist in pitching for work and helping to manage client relationships
Advise clients on a range of construction issues and documentation, including consultant appointments, warranties, and construction and development contracts across various sectors
Handle your matters (with supervision) and assist partners and senior associates on more complex cases
Play a significant role in working for key clients of the Construction practice and the firm
Prepare pleadings, witness statements, and expert statements
Engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
Requirements
Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with at least 1 year of post-qualification experience in construction law
Strong contentious construction experience, with good knowledge of the TCC and adjudication process
Excellent drafting skills, with the ability to produce clear and legally effective documents
Confident stakeholder management skills
Ability to manage multiple matters efficiently while maintaining high levels of client service
Inquisitive mindset and a desire to understand clients' needs and provide tailored, impactful advice
Strong academic background and excellent communication skills
