A leading international law firm is seeking a talented Contentious Construction Associate to join their exceptional Construction practice in London. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious lawyer to work on complex, high-value construction disputes and further develop their skills within a supportive and dynamic team.

Position Overview

As a Contentious Construction Associate, you will play a key role in the firm's Construction practice, working closely with partners and senior associates on a variety of contentious matters. You will have the opportunity to advise clients on a range of construction issues, draft legal documents, and assist in managing client relationships. This position provides excellent exposure to high-profile cases and the chance to contribute to the ongoing success of the practice.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in pitching for work and helping to manage client relationships

  • Advise clients on a range of construction issues and documentation, including consultant appointments, warranties, and construction and development contracts across various sectors

  • Handle your matters (with supervision) and assist partners and senior associates on more complex cases

  • Play a significant role in working for key clients of the Construction practice and the firm

  • Prepare pleadings, witness statements, and expert statements

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels

Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with at least 1 year of post-qualification experience in construction law

  • Strong contentious construction experience, with good knowledge of the TCC and adjudication process

  • Excellent drafting skills, with the ability to produce clear and legally effective documents

  • Confident stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple matters efficiently while maintaining high levels of client service

  • Inquisitive mindset and a desire to understand clients' needs and provide tailored, impactful advice

  • Strong academic background and excellent communication skills
