​Our Client

On the behalf of a leading buy-side asset management client, Rutherford is looking to speak to an experienced Business Continuity Management professional with strong senior stakeholder management experience. This is a senior role reporting directly into the MD for Business Operational Risk & Resilience Strategy. The role is based in the City of London with options for flexible working arrangements.

Purpose of the Role

The purpose of this role is to manage the Client’s global Business Continuity framework, including plans, impact analysis, testing and reporting. Successful management of the framework requires close collaboration with senior management and key individuals across all business units. The role is also responsible for ensuring that all regulatory and policy requirements are met and that the firm is at the forefront of best practices and changes taking place within the industry.

Responsibilities

Coordinate Business Continuity initiatives globally across the business, liaising with all key stakeholders; this includes regular review and testing of existing Business Continuity Plans (BCP) and Business Impact Assessment (BIA).

  • Development of new BCP or BIAs as required

  • Maintain existing Crisis Management Team (CMT) framework and incident response planning

  • Align incident response planning and CMT with other related frameworks, such as the Cyber Incident Response Team and Plans owned by the Information Security Team

  • Implementation of new BCP tool, including supporting business users during the roll-out

  • Development and maintenance of Business Continuity related information on the Intranet

  • Manage and execute all BCM and Operational Resilience scenario tests, including desktop exercises

  • In the event a situation leads to the invocation of the BCP and/or convening of the CMT, liaise with all areas of the business and facilitate delivery of identified actions and subsequent reviews of actions taken

  • Provision of regular reporting (written and verbal) to a range of stakeholders such as boards, committees, clients, etc.

  • Maintaining a high degree of knowledge and industry insight around global regulations, best practices, and anticipated changes relating to Business Continuity Management

  • Supporting the integration of BCM into the developing Operational Resilience framework

Candidate Qualifications & Experience

  • Professional qualification in business continuity – CBCI minimum

  • Experience in a Business Continuity Management role in financial services or professional services

  • Operational Resilience experience preferred

  • Strong academic achievement

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Well organised with a strong attention to detail

  • Highly motivated, and self-starting
