​Our Client

Rutherford have been mandated on a brilliant opportunity for a Compliance Analyst to join our global, UK headquartered hedge fund client’s Portfolio Risk Team. Reporting into the Head of Investment Compliance who is based in London, the role will also provide exposure to wider teams including portfolio managers and product legal.

Main Duties

Key responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing real time alerts to ensure uniformity with investment mandates, and work with traders and portfolio managers to resolve any exceptions

  • Manage pre-trade alerts, working with the relevant teams on developing and ensuring an appropriate pre-trade framework is in place.

  • Review restrictions for new mandates prior to approval

  • Execute regulatory thresholds in the fund’s risk system

  • Examine breaches of restrictions and maintain the central log

  • Work closely with product and structuring teams to agree document amendments as required and when necessary

  • Collaborate with Technology team to implement required system enhancements to develop new monitoring tools associated with strategic requirements

Your Profile

  • Undergraduate Degree in a subject with an analytical focus

  • 2-4 years’ experience in a similar capacity at an investment manager

  • Working knowledge of investment strategies applied including strategies that apply derivatives and short positions

  • Exposure to trading desk environment

  • Programming skills, Excel/VBA, SQL, Python would be preferred
