A leading private equity/credit fund is seeking a Head of Legal to provide oversight to their European efforts. The firm invest across private equity, real assets, and private debt. The role will include advising/drafting on the establishment and distribution of a variety of fund types across the EMEA region. The Lawyer will also be involved in implementing regulatory developments as these and advising how these might affect the wider business. The lawyer will provide management support to the lawyers responsible for downstream transactions for the business.
Responsibilities
Line management of 8 lawyers
Structure, establish and provide ongoing maintenance of UCITS and AIFs and other products.
Manage relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external to the business
Interpret regulations to help the businesses navigate the changing regulatory environment and implement new regulations
Board support and internal committee attendance
Requirements
Qualified England and Wales Solicitor
12+ relevant years post qualification experience (PQE)
Relevant experience gained either in private practice or in the in-house legal team of a alternatives business, with exposure to private equity, real estate, infrastructure, or private debt (ideally including close-ended funds)
Strong management experience
Technical Knowledge of UCITS and AIFs
