​Our Client

Rutherford has been mandated on an exciting opportunity for a Counsel – Commercial Contracts to join our global multi-strategy hedge fund client’s growing legal team in London.

​

Main Duties

Key responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the global legal team on a wide range of commercial work concentrating on the fund’s general commercial and technology documentation

  • Further support will be expected to be given to research and data contracts, software agreements, NDAs and general data protection agreements.

  • Negotiating general business contracts, office-related contracts, consultancy agreements and any other paperwork that is expected to operate a funds business.

  • There will also be scope to potentially assist with other areas including fund documentation and due diligence documentation.

  • Taking full responsibility for the review and negotiation of the firm's general commercial documentation.

  • Constantly looking for ways to improve the firm’s processes, providing solutions to make things efficient and scalable on a global level.

Your Profile

  • Must have the requisite knowledge covering general commercial contract work, either from a reputable private practice firm or similar in-house organisation

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Highly articulate with strong organisational skills

  • Ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders
