Our Client
Our client, a leading global alternative asset management firm with c. $400bn in AuM, is currently looking for a Senior Legal Counsel - Infrastructure to join its London office. The firm owns and operates a large range of assets, spanning across property, private equity, infrastructure as well as sustainable power.
The successful appointee will be reporting into the firm's Managing Director, Infrastructure Europe.
Main Duties
The Senior Legal Counsel - Infrastructure will be responsible for the provision of legal and support on M&A and finance transactions. As the infrastructure division is growing in the European landscape, the successful appointee will mostly assist in transaction activity, more specifically with documentation, due diligence and integration activities. They will also provide assistance to internal corporate matters.
Key responsibilities for the role will include, but are not limited to:
Providing legal advice and support on transactions and key executive initiatives
Supporting transaction execution activities as a member of the transaction teams
Liaising with the different legal groups of European portfolio businesses in regard to internal governance and funding processes
Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and interpreting contracts and agreements
Interpreting and explaining legal requirements
Contributing in a proactive manner to the maintenance of standards and the sharing of knowledge with other lawyers across Europe
Providing support to the Managing Director on an ongoing basis in the provision of legal services for the firm's European Renewables business
Your Profile
7-8 years of relevant legal experience, either gained practising law with a well-known law firm or in a private equity or corporation's legal department
A strong background in a minimum of one of the following: M&A, project financing or capital markets, an understanding of the laws, regulations and rules applicable to the infrastructure or telecommunications sector would be an asset
Strong legal, contractual drafting and analytical skills
M&A transaction management experience
