Our Client
Our client, a leading macro hedge fund, is currently seeking a London-based Senior Legal Counsel for its legal function to help support the growth of the firm. The senior lawyer will work closely with the General Counsel and advise the firm on a range of matters including funds, trading, regulatory and more.
Main Duties
Key responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to:
Generalist counsel to support the firm on daily legal matters
Provide legal support throughout the entire lifecycle of the fund
Provide legal advice to internal teams including trading desks and sales teams
Draft and negotiate fund documentation and agreements
Advise on complex regulatory matters
Manage the relationship with external counsel including documentation oversight
Advise the firm on their expansion into other jurisdictions
Your Profile
Buy-side legal experience required with a strong preference of AIFMD knowledge. Ideally from a hedge fund or investment manager
Derivatives or Funds understanding is essential
Circa 6-10 years PQE
SEC exposure would be an added bonus
