​Our client

​Our client, a private investment and advisory firm with c.$5 billion AUM, are seeking a Legal Counsel to join their London office.

Reporting into the Chief Compliance Officer, the role offers a tangible growth path while also providing exposure to the firm’s various investment strategies.

​

Main Duties

Key responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist the firm’s investment teams with the investment process, including evaluating the relevant legal documentation relating to prospective fund acquisitions, negotiating agreements and assisting with the process of closing the investment.

  • Reviewing or drafting legal documentation related to general fund activity such as fund extensions, amendments and advisory board appointments;

  • Drafting and reviewing agreements such as NDAs and other non-binding documents;

  • Liaising with external legal counsel and ensuring the practicality of any external legal advice is accurate;

  • Advising on occasional employment related matters such as drafting employment contracts, share options arrangements and assisting with any employee related matters.

  • Assisting in regulatory and compliance related activities such AML, conflicts and data protection

Your Profile

  • 2-5 years post-qualified experience as an in-house lawyer in a financial services firm within investment management;

  • Ability to demonstrate technical and commercial considerations and exhibit a practical approach to handling a multi-disciplinary workload;

  • Candidates must have exceptional written and verbal interpersonal skills;

  • A solid command of the Microsoft Office suite
