A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join our client's Risk Team in London as Operational & Investment Risk Officer (Manager). The firm is a leading regulatory platform based in the UK and Europe which manages 20bn+ in asset.
The successful candidate will undertake a rewarding role of engaging with some of the best hedge funds trading on the firm's platform. The appointee will work closely with the business' clients, other Risk Officers, and the Operations and Compliance departments.
Main Duties
The successful candidate will be exposed to a wide spectrum of activities across the investment management industry. The appointee will be expected to help with the oversight of several established clients as well as contribute to regulatory reporting which includes Short Selling Regulation, Large Shareholding Reporting, Market Abuse Monitoring, etc.
You will also be responsible for a variety of functions, which include:
Risk and operational oversight of clients' portfolios. This will include independent verification and deep understanding of the risk metrics produced by the client firm
Monitoring of client trading activity and investment limits including timely documentation and communication of the ongoing monitoring performed on trading books
Internal and external reporting of risk statistics, exposures, controls and regulatory data, ensuring that these tasks are completed within specific deadlines
Helping clients with the set up of trading relationships
Continuous evaluation of processes and procedures to identify inefficiencies, make recommendations for improvements, and run these through with stakeholders
Perform other ad hoc work/special projects as necessary

Your Profile
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
Bachelor's Degree, ideally in STEM
5+ years of experience with solid understanding of financial instruments, hedge fund strategies and operations
Regulatory Reporting experience
Highly motivated and goal-oriented individual
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Bloomberg
Previous experience as a Chief of Staff/in the COO vertical desirable
