​Our Client

Our client, a private equity investment advisor, is looking for a dual General Counsel/CCO to help drive strategic change within the business. The firm is currently going through an impressive growth phase and are now looking to hire an in-house General Counsel who will also oversee compliance-related matters.

​

The successful candidates will be an experience legal professional who has proven ability at scaling a firm's Legal and Compliance function.

Main Duties

Key responsibilities for this position will include, but are not limited to:

  • Leading the legal function

  • Spearheading, drafting, reviewing and negotiating all of the firm’s legal agreements

  • Providing support to the compliance and regulatory departments for fund distribution compliance

  • Overseeing and spearheading all engagements with outside counsel when needed

  • Providing overall legal advice to the firm

  • Providing advice to the firm when it comes to corporate governance matters

  • The ongoing update and drafting of new policies and procedures

  • Any additional ad hoc work as needed by the firm

Your Profile

  • Qualified UK lawyer

  • Previously held the SMF16/17 functions, preferable though not essential

  • Preivous experience in the financial services industry
