About Kaylyn Nesbeth
Kaylyn Nesbeth is the Marketing Manager at Rutherford, a London-based recruitment firm that specialises in compliance, financial crime, legal and cyber security searches within financial services.
After getting her Degree in Journalism at De Montfort University, Kaylyn started her career as a Project Manager for a design company based in the heart of London. Whilst honing her numerous skills in the workplace, she decided to explore her creativity by launching her own lifestyle blog and Youtube channel dedicated to twentysomethings in the city. Kaylyn’s content was about exploring what London had to offer from a cultural standpoint.
She later moved on to work for a global media agency, where she further developed her marketing and communication skills. Thereafter, she joined the famous London Design Festival as Digital Marketing Assistant, where she would create content on a daily basis all whilst reporting on the effectiveness of her online initiatives.
Kaylyn now spearheads Rutherford’s digital efforts, supporting the team and Head of Marketing in solidifying the brand’s online presence in their target markets.
What can colleagues - and friends - expect when they are around you?
They can expect me to be committed to everything I do whilst having a smile on my face. My friends always say I can walk into any room and hold a conversation, often with little to no knowledge of the topic! I like to make everyone - from colleagues to my family - feel comfortable and strive to make sure I treat everyone, no matter the seniority or lack of, with kindness and respect.
What do you enjoy the most about marketing?
I love being a part of a project or campaign and seeing it through from conception to completion. There is nothing like being creative, exploring new ideas and trends whilst being able to analytically identify and highlight what has been successful, what didn’t go so well and how many people you’ve reached with your work.
What are your guiding principles at work?
I massively believe in bringing your best self to work: it is where you spend the most time so it makes sense to be positive, transparent and a team player. You produce the best work when in a healthy and happy environment, looking after your wellbeing. Work is about balance, which can involve a lot of give and take. I strive to be a trusted colleague that can be depended on when needed, the ability to get stuck in wherever necessary is key!
What motivates you at work and in life?
The ability to provide for the people I love.
What is the most unexpected thing you ever did?
Most things I do are unexpected, I can be impulsive with my decisions.
